我以一心,奉君 • I Gave You My Heart
My heart & soul I gave to thee,
emboldened by your majesty,
and, tho' it seemed a good ide',
't was fascination's dud.
Knowest knot what held in hand
nor could thou ever understand.
Though turgid wat'r & spoil't land,
you planted them in mud.
I think you thought you knew what was
of unimportance, gathered dust,
in spite of this, still, as Life must,
one day, they grew a bud.
A seedling, green, it raised its head
in spite of fears 't was left for dead,
yet, wishing more than to be lead,
grew legs and walked away.
